There was a 3-year wait after the launch of DDS3 before DDS4 was launched in1999. DDS 4 was released on a 150m with a capacity of 20 GB (a similar rise as from DDS2 to DDS 3). However, there was a significant rise in the transfer speed between DDS3 and DDS 4 with transfer rates going up to 3.2 MB/s (almost 200% increase in transfer rate).
